Re: Philips Hue plugin

Post by stoffix » Sun Feb 11, 2018 2:10 am

This is a great plugin which really increases the value of my Philips hue bulbs!
I do have some issues though, and I'm wondering if there's still any development?

I tried using the (group)create scene function, but it didn't help me (it always creates a new scene, so now iv'e got multiple scenes with the same name)

Then I went on to try to use the (lights)save status to do the same, but sadly it fails. See below for the log:

Currently i'm using a work around by recalling a fixed scene which works, but isn't exactly what i want.
I'm also seeing a lot of the "Keyerror: Probably none-colored light." error, which I understand is safe to ignore. But still it fills up my log. any news on this?

I have been looking at the API for this and I believe what is taking place is because of new API versions that have been released and the plugin has not been updated. I am going to do a little poking about with it over the next few days.

Fantastic! I'll gladly help out testing anything :)
My current lights are all "white amiance" and I'm going to buy more bulbs,
I might buy a colour one to test out as well ;)

Hi!

Sorry for late reply, the email notification seems to not work anymore.

The error comes because you use lights with no "hue" setting. I only have colored lights, so I have not noticd the error previously. I will look into it.

New version ready in the first post. Should fix the problem stoffix had and some others. :)

0.4.3 by Aquila 2018-03-03
- Fixed bug in SaveStatus where non-colored lights made an error. (Thanks to stoffix for reporting the bug.)
- Fixed bug in "Search for new lights"
0.4.2 by Aquila 2016-10-18
- Non-colored lights now handled correctly by eventthread.
- Buttonstate switches now correctly supported.

Sweet .. thanks Aquila. I didn't know you were still maintaining the plugin. I will investigate the e-mail issue for new posts.

We have not ad an e-mail transmission issue since sept 29 of last year. So I am not sure why you did not get one.. Are you getting them now?. The e-mails could be getting filtered by your email provider. You could try changing your e-mail address to something like gmail. as a test and if you get them on that account then it is most likely some kind of a filter. and these filters can be accidentally created or something the email provider has done. But you should be able to ask. This would also help me to know what needs to be done on my end possibly to remedy the issue.

Is the Pulse command a special Hue Bridge command like colorloop?
Because I would like to change the intensity (from lowest brightness up to highest) and change time (like 10 sec, or 60 sec).

Ahh and btw.:
When I want to set brightness to 100% I have to add the Dim Up command (with 100 at "Dim up in %" field) three times to reach realy 100%.
Is this a Bug?
The pulse command is a Hue Bridge command, so it is not posible to change the intensity.

The brightness setting is NOT a %, its a number from 0 to 254.

If I may ask. How does your plugin get the events from the hue bridge ?

Would like to react to events instead of making api calls. ( In case I will be able to create app myself // learning to code atm).

Does your plugin somehow listen to events from the bridge ? Or are you polling the API ? You modify the config somehow ?

Greetings

The plugin is polling the API. Last I checked it is not posible to get the API/bridge to send events. The plugin polls every 2 seconds.
