Alright, a new version is released that I think works the expected way. You can configure the macro/action like in this example:

Please note, it works only for on/off commands (dim levels 0 and 255).

Best regards

First I must say that this plugin is exactly what Ive been looking for, thank you so much for developing it and releasing it to the community!
The download link doesn't seem to work for me though, how can I download the plugin? I tried both the link you sent in the desciption and the link you have in your signature, none of them seems to work for me.

Kind regards,

Thanks for fixing the download link, this plugin is great!

I encountered a problem after a while though, the error messages are down below.

File "threading.pyc", line 532, in __bootstrap_inner
File "threading.pyc", line 484, in run
File "C:\ProgramData\EventGhost\plugins\TellStickDuo\__init__.py", line 1450, in sendCommand
raise eg.Exception(self.text.exception_txt)
Exception: An error occurred while trying to transmit

Is this caused by me having several sources that have the potential to send the "activate" command at the same time? In other words that the activate event may be pushed/activated several times per second.
Maybe the tellstick duo can't handle it then?

Kind regards,

Hello,

This exception indicates that the TellStick Duo is "busy". The send command has been tried 5 times without success. A conflict can easily happen if you have another app also sending commands but as long is only EG, there are less risks

The plugin itself handles send commands like this:

1) Each time you activate the send action, a task is put into a queue and scheduled
2) Then executed one by one with an initial delay of 0.1 second and followed by 1,5 seconds if more tasks are in the queue
3) Each task results in one or more send commands (maximum 5)
4) When finished, next task is processed

The problem here could be that the next task in the queue is started a bit too early if there are too many send commands that fails. In this case you should see this in the log, a lot of "Retry nbr: "

One thing to try is to increase the delay value (in line 1522, see below) and see if this helps (unfortunately the Duo is not able to handle lot of commands itself, it has no built in queue)

Code: Select all

delay = (lenq-1)*2.5
