Pushover plugin

Post by Luciver » Thu Jun 19, 2014 7:19 pm

Hey guys,

just wanted to share another plugin with you.
Pushover is a push notification service for iOS/Android.

The plugin can be downloaded here:
https://github.com/EssKaa/Pushover/

Happy messaging! ;)

Hello, this plugin is very old and I can not make it work.
Is there any intention of getting some nationalization?
Pushover costs about 8 $ but is very good because you can configure different types of priority in the messages also has a limit of 7500 messages per month and pushbullet only 100, I use it with domoticz and I am very happy. With pushbullet it does not notify all the messages in the iphone but with pushover no one is left to notify.

I'm sorry for my English.

regards

Lo siento por mi ingles.

Which version of EventGhost? Do you get any error message? Paste the message here (the whole, not only parts).

The plugin works just fine. I suspect you don't have the right information loaded for the configuration.

Put your user key (this is NOT the same as your username) into the "User:" field. It will be some crazy looking string.

For the token field, you must "register an application/create an api token" on the Pushover site - and enter that into the "Token:" field. Again, another crazy looking string.

That's it!

Hi, I configured it wrong, I thought it was my user. It's already working. Many thanks. Do you know if they will update it? To be able to use the priorities in the messages

Hola, lo había configurado mal, pensé que era mi usuario. Ya está funcionando. Muchísimas gracias. ¿Sabéis si van ha actualizarlo? para poder usar las prioridades en los mensajes

The plugin is only 60 lines of code. It should be really easy to modify to provide a priority. Just add it to the JSON POST message. The only quirk I see in the API is that if you select Emergency Priority, it will also require you to specify "retry" and "expire" parameters as well.

Another thought I had:

If you really need a comprehensive Pushover plugin, you might consider wrapping this library that someone else created into an EventGhost plugin. It seems to be pretty complete.

Hmm, i did not get any email for this forum post. So sorry for my late reply.
I will look into priorities and i will be adding device name support. I can't tell you how long it is gonna take though. I am pretty swamped at work.

Ok, so I can send Pushover messages from eventGhost but I can't seem to hear any pushover messages. Is the plugin restricted to listen only or am I missing something?
I really do need eventGhost to listen for Pushover messages.

This plugin is only for sending push messages, it is not designed to receive them. If that is what you mean.
Sorry for the late reply, it seems that i don't get any email notifications anymore.
