XmlIdLink not defined

Post by rdgerken » Tue Dec 11, 2012 1:24 am

Why is it when I "Copy As Python" a Jump or an Enable/Disable statement into a Python Command, it fails?

eg.plugins.EventGhost.EnableItem(XmlIdLink(1426))

19:36:49 Traceback (most recent call last):
19:36:50 Python script "35", line 2, in <module>
19:36:50 eg.plugins.EventGhost.EnableItem(XmlIdLink(1426))
19:36:50 NameError: name 'XmlIdLink' is not defined

Thank you for any help you can provide!

Are you sure? Seems kind of silly that there wouldn't be a way for EG to control itself programmatically...

You can insert macro with two actions:
first add eventghost action - Gets item enable state (True when enabled)
and second action immediately after first action - python script, where will be the first line operation handling with variable eg.result (eg.itemstate1 = eg.result)

If you want check more items state, you should repeat in macro this two actions for wanted items and than at the end add last python script action with handling of eg.itemstate1-X.

Can you please expand, your answer may work but I'm having difficulty wrapping my mind around where you're going with this. Mind sharing an example of your scenario?
