Cyberlink Universal & Windows 10

Post by jimmyjazz » Tue Sep 03, 2019 2:17 pm

Hi there,

I recently upgraded my Win7 Media PC to Win10 and now find that my old Cyberlink Universal remote doesn't function fully.

Many of the standard media buttons - play/pause, select, volume - work, but most of the other buttons don't register at all. When I attempt to load my old config profile into EG I am prompted to download the appropriate Cyberlink plugin which then fails.

I can't find any other more appropriate Win10 driver anywhere and nothing in the forums - any help would be much appreciated.

Win10 - version 1803
EventGhost - version 0.4.1.r1722

Genius, thanks so much!

So to confirm, this is what resolved the issue

1, Restarting Win10 with driver verification disabled
2, Installed WinUSB Addon
3, Copied the drivers folder it creates to %programdata%\Evenghost
4, Successfully installed the plugin that had been failing to this point

Kudos to kgschlosser!!

i really would like to see you upgrade your EventGhost to RC6. Microsoft made some changes to the notifications system in Windows starting with 10. EG 0.4 is not written in a manner to handle these changes and you can end up with "phantom" like bugs. and they can happen all over the place. Inside of EG and also outside of EG.

It is up to you but if you happen to experience strange errors and behavior from any applications and also from EG. the cause could be EG.
