How to export plugins.

Post by kgschlosser » Sun Jul 28, 2019 6:44 pm

If you have a missing plugin and want to help out by uploading that's great!

This is a little tutorial on how to export the plugin from EventGhost.
You need to be running EventGhost 0.5 in order for this to work.

It does not matter if you have the plugin added to your tree or not. This process will not transfer any of your plugin settings with it.
Open the Add Plugin Dialog (right click anywhere in your tree and click on "add plugin"

Once you have that opened locate the plugin and single left click it. Take note of the version of the plugin on the right hand side near the top.
Then right click on the plugin and click on "export". you will be prompted for the destination and filename. I want you to append that version to the end of the filename before the extension.. like so.

SomePlugin-3.5.6b.egplugin
if the plugin only has a single decimal point then prepend a 0. to it. so if the version is 5.4 make it 0.5.4
if the plugin version does not have any .'s in it. 5 would become 0.5.0.
If alpha or beta is spelled out. then add an a for alpha and a b for beta. 6.4.2beta = 6.4.2b
