the new forum trial is in place here:

http://www.eventghost.net/forum/

you should be able to log in and do everything normally. Fingers crossed.

Of course this is just a test. We will need to set up an official date to do the transfer, shut down the old forum, and then move everything over again.

the Wiki is not done yet but I don't think it is a huge priority at this point and can be taken care of later.

If people don't like the new forum theme I can change it back, but at least for now it helps make it easier to know if you are on the old "active" one, or the new "trial" one. :)

I could successfully login, but why don't we use phpbb on sourceforge if it's free there?

1. 'cuss it sucks. Hard to find/navigate to.
2. One place for all things EventGhost is nice.

OFFICIAL DATE FOR THE FORUM TRANSFER:

This Friday Feb. 4th at 14:00 (2pm) Eastern Standard Time. The .org forum should be shut down at that point, and hopefully the .net version will be updated and ready with a minimum delay.

there may be a few minor bumps at that point but I'm sure it's nothing we can't handle...

I know this info is in Zian's signature but some people might filter that out mentally cause it's a sig

Will this forum be locked at the same time with a link to the new one?

The current forum will be locked I am sure. I don't know if there will be a link or not, that is up to BitMonster.

As soon as possible the .org domain should be redirected to the .net domain but that could take a little while to propagate.

To avoid confusion, I have used a different theme for the new forum, so you will know which one you are using.

I actually prefer the new theme anyway, but we can create a poll after the transition to see if we should keep it or not.

I like it too... it's growing on me.
But it still needs more cow-bell.
