Re: Roku and Now TV network control plugin

add an action that would allow you to select any channel that is installed on your roku so the user doesn't have to search for the app id. This would work by first by having the plugin query the apps from Roku, then listing those channels in a drop down that a user can select in the action configur...

Re: EG and current python updates

Personally, I hope they never update to a newer version of Python. Doing so would make all my Python script and Python command actions stop working because the newest version of Python is not backwards-compatible with 2.6.

Re: Nest Thermostat plug-in

In short yes the thermostat would think everyone is gone. All thermostats should be in a public location that gets the most traffic. People who only have 1 thermostat and it is inside their bedroom or other location that doesn't really get foot traffic should be moved. I have told this to many peop...

Re: Transmit IR code on Windows sleep

It appears that your IR receiver is an HP Media Center (RC6) transceiver, which means that it works with Windows Media Center, and it also includes an IR transmitter. You can use the following plugin with that IR transceiver: http://www.eventghost.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6044 That plugin will ...

Re: Detect running program and disable bluetooth

You could also do it with the DevCon utility from Microsoft. See the following links for information on how to obtain and use DevCon: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/182.how-to-obtain-the-current-version-of-device-console-utility-devcon-exe.aspx http://msdn.microsoft.com/e...

Re: Nest Thermostat plug-in

My thermostat is in the middle of the hallway facing the wall on the opposite side of the hall from the thermostat. The hall is about 25 feet long. I have to pass the thermostat when I wake up in the morning and walk out of my bedroom, but it's possible for no people to pass the thermostat for sever...

Re: Nest Thermostat plug-in

Yes, I understand that it uses sensors. But (without the EG plugin and a smartphone app like Tasker) how could the Nest know that you're going to be home tomorrow if you're usually away on that day of week? I don't see how it could possibly learn when you'll be home/away if you don't have a fixed sc...

Re: Nest Thermostat plug-in

I'm not trolling or bashing anything. I think I asked a valid question. Where better to get an answer than from a group of people who use the thing? @Dragon470: You mentioned the fact that your family's schedule is not normal/repeatable. So, can you explain to me how the Nest figures that out? I und...

Re: Nest Thermostat plug-in

I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would want a Nest thermostat. I have an inexpensive RiteTemp programmable thermostat that I bought from Home Depot more than 10 years ago for less than $40. My family's schedule is fairly constant. We leave for work/school in the morning around the same time...

Re: Snarl

Pako, I have not worked with the On Screen Display in EG. Does this plugin (or the default OSD) allow displaying messages/menus while watching a full screen video that takes exclusive control of the video adapter? In other words, will this force the full screen video into the background while the OS...

Re: control multiple instances of softwares?

You could run the software in two different sessions on your PC. If you setup two user accounts on the PC, you could run EG in both sessions (using different configuration files) and each session would run its own instance of the playback software. You'd have to login to both sessions though. Login ...

Re: Leapcast Plugin?

To be honest, I gave up on all the "baked in" Internet features in Media Center. At first, I bought a Chromecast. It was cool at first, but the lack of ability to control it with an IR remote soon became a problem for me. It's just not convenient to pick up the phone, unlock it, etc, etc, etc. Also,...
