Re: Will an error in a Python Script Action stop a Macro?

Another way of running python scripts that I prefer is to use the built in eg.scheduler. If you schedule a python function call (instead of immediate execution) it will run in a separate thread. I gave example here in another topic

Re: TellStick Duo

No, it will not make the TellStickDuo handle commands quicker, only more reliable. To explain the background: the TellStick cannot send commands so quickly, you would normally need a pause of about 1 - 1,5 seconds between each command, otherwise it will not be transmitted at all (the driver or the d...

Re: MQTT Client

Hi,
Unfortunately I do not use Kodi but looking at the documentation my guess is that it should look like in the examples below (provided you have not changed the default configured topic prefix kodi/)

Re: RFXtrx

is there a quick way to change the tellstick to the RFX Not a quick way, you have to make a new for each you have but it will help guiding you to create them, it will not take that long, maybe you can even use copy paste and just change some parts. You could also try editing the eg xml file directl...

Re: RFXtrx

Depends what you are looking for but the main advantage with RFXtrx is its support for many more products. Besides it is much better in handling transmission of multiple commands and parallel receiving of sensor signals. It is also faster in the situation that you need to send out multiple commands ...

Re: TellStick Duo

So I have now implemented a buffering of commands. A new version is available. You should be able to trigger actions in EG without delays in between. Commands sent will be handled and pushed to the TellStickDuo by the plugin. This solution is using a 1,5 sec delay between commands since this showed ...

Re: How to build EventGhost from source code

I think it is great that this has been outlined and documented. Even though not every developer will do it, it is good practice to document the process. Personally, I will most likely not build myself since I have not that deep knowledge in EG inner secrets. But it is good and appreciated that this ...

Re: TellStick Duo

Hi, Yes, this is a "feature" of both the TellStickDuo and the Telldus service running in the computer, neither has a buffering of multiple commands. Many years ago I actually suggested this to be added but my suggestion was never implemented. If you look at another product instead, the RFXtrx, it ha...

Yes, this was a bug, I used the wrong keyword, should be 'imperial' for non-metrics. New version 1.6.2 is uploaded

Re: SunTracker - with moving ghost

The thing you can try to is to find a better and more reliable weather station. Try another location that is pretty close to where you live.

We need to shape up and become more structured!

There are a lot of complaints about this forum not being modern enough etc etc. But remember it has worked pretty well for many of us long timer. What I have seen happening recently is not making the situation better. Regardless of forum engine, if we keep on scattering all threads with off-topics, ...

Re: Nest Thermostat plug-in

Since you have it in a pi already, please look at Node-Red. There are powerul schedulers available (search for BigTimer).
In particular this link might be helpful
