Re: Samsung Smart TV network remote

@ Boolean263 AHEM!!! They almost always have com ports. it's that almost none of the manufacturers provide the cable and dsub to plug into the header on the main board. almost all main boards out there have a com port header as well as an ir header and if it has integrated audio some form of a digi...

Re: Samsung Smart TV network remote

I was digging through the forums for hidden gems, and found this one. It works for me, both on my TV and my Blu-Ray player (though many of the keys on the player don't work the same/at all yet). Cool stuff for creating this and bringing it to life! Since I have two devices, I cloned the source and a...

Re: Timing how long your computer has been idle

I use this to fire up iTunes' visualization mode as my screensaver after 5 minutes, but I'm sure there are other uses. If anyone was curious about how I did that, here's (a trimmed down copy of) my tree for doing that. It uses new actions that I added to the iTunes plugin , which is one reason I di...

Re: New iTunes plugin thread

Looks good. I was really surprised when I saw the iTunes thread pop up because I didn't know ever existed. It makes me wonder what else is buried in the forums On occasion I'll just dig around in the archives and see what I can find that's interesting. I found this plugin by searching for it, but n...

Re: TaskMonitorPlus plugin - v0.0.4

I've updated to TMP 0.4. I had the plugin deactivated and now wanted to activate it, but EG hangs. I did some testing and the result is: In WindowInfo() the call to cFunctions GetWindowText() hangs when it should get the text for it own PID. Here is a code snippet i used to replace/extend the call ...

Re: TaskMonitorPlus plugin - v0.0.4

I've released verson 0.0.4 based on feedback from kgschlosser. It's all under-the-hood fixes: The title and window_class attributes are now correct if either one would be the empty string Methods which require their window to exist throw an understandable exception I still can't find why it would be...

Did you see topix's solution above? Try completely removing the original Task Monitor from your Autostart tree, not just disabling it, and see if that helps.

Re: TaskMonitorPlus plugin - v0.0.3

Version 0.0.3 of Task Monitor Plus is out! It adds a bunch of useful window-management functions from kgschlosser. It also removes the hook DLL since, as kgschlosser found, it's not needed. There's also a new event that fires when a window's title changes. (The payload contains the new title.) The A...

Re: TaskMonitorPlus plugin - v0.0.2

well here is some news.. the hook.dll is a dead stick. it doesn't work and isn't necessary. that is the reason why when you have both installed and disable one of them the events stop for both. that is because it unregisters the hwnd for the messageReceiver window. and that would be global. I remov...

Re: TrayTip plugin - v0.2.0

Thank you for your code contribution! I like the event suffix idea. I still like the payload, though, so I figured, why not both? Version 0.2.0 of TrayTip is out, and attached to the top post of this thread. It leverages topic's changes to add a separate field for naming the events generated by Tray...

Timing how long your computer has been idle

The `System.Idle` event fires once, after the computer has been idle for about a minute. I wanted to track how long the computer had been idle, so I created this fairly simple setup. It requires the Timer plugin (which ships with EventGhost). <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <EventGhost Versi...

Re: TrayTip plugin - v0.1.2

I'm glad to hear it! Thanks for finding those bugs!

Version 0.1.2 adds a patch from topic2k (thanks!) that allows you to use path variables (like %SystemPath%) in the path to the icon. It's attached to the first post of this thread.

Re: Help: repeating an action as long as a key is held down

well i believe there are a couple of different keyboard plugins.. I know of 2 the stock keyboard plugin and a keyboard+ plugin. Hm, cool. Do you have a link to Keyboard+ for me? It's not on the wiki , and although I found this forum topic about it, it links to a github page that no longer exists. B...
