Re: ESP-IO

- When you reboot it it always set's the time to "Thu, 01 Jan 1970 08:00:00 GMT" (don't know if it's intended to do so?) When the thermostat gets's powered it want's you to configure the date and time, which I don't care about, but you need to set something before you can change the temperature wit...

Re: Google Play Desktop Music Player shuffle 'Button"

Further considerations: This found and brought window to front for me just fine: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <EventGhost Version="0.5.0-rc4"> <Macro Name="Python Script" XML_Guid="{54968E9B-05A3-4720-B9E6-62F70901B952}" Expanded="True"> <Action XML_Guid="{551746A7-9644-4EF1-8C07-2DB8973C...

Re: Google Play Desktop Music Player shuffle 'Button"

Zian, First, thanks for the heads up on the program as it is pretty nice actually. I messed around a bit with the api and found it to be a headache, at least from the point of view of an extremely low skill coder. Next, I believe those keyboard shortcuts from the now dead link are not for the deskto...

Re: Temperature alarm

First I'd recommend updating to at least the latest version, though I do recommend the release candidate. next try this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <EventGhost Version="0.5.0-rc4"> <Macro Name="Python Script" XML_Guid="{54968E9B-05A3-4720-B9E6-62F70901B952}"> <Event Name="TellStickDuo.m...

Re: Any way to display a .gif file, or a .mp4 file?

It depends on how you want it to look really, there is nothing stopping you from inserting a trigger to run a program which likely will need some commandline argument to open the specified file at the end of a macro, but I'm guessing you want something "cleaner" like a popup or something. I'd recomm...

Plugin Development

So I've been thinking about a project for myself to create an eventghost plugin toward some end. I'll probably do something with a program, lets say ShareX , an excellent screenshot utility for example. Lacking a tutorial on this I have been dredging through the included plugins and seeing how they ...

Re: Have I bought the wrong IR emitter?

I am going to suggest THIS ONE to you. I own this one personally and I have not seen a single remote that doesn't work with it. Listen to this man, I was going to suggest a lone transceiver that I use with some old remotes to busted tv sets, but a package that comes with a remote for that price is ...

Re: Trying to automate Chromecast, problem controlling Chrome

I'm glad I saw this as it reminded me that this is a (probable) bug that has happened to me too. It seems to be an issue with clicks not properly ending. So when you right click it thinks you never stopped. I'd use the "Apps" key instead of right clicking, like so: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-...

Re: Execute EG Macros from a Desktop Shortcut

Make sure you put quotes around just the path per the example below. Windows doesn't like the space in "program files" "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\EventGhost.exe" -event Start Zoomplayer movie After this triggers you'll see an event in the log (the yellow lightning bolts) https://i.imgur.com/...

Re: Trigger only when event is detected 'x' times in 'y' seconds

I was bored so I installed it and I'm a tad confused. in the program it looks like you can set a trigger on sound detection, then trigger an action after detection. I set my Action to "Run File" and pointed it toward "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\EventGhost.exe" where Eventghost is installed fo...

Re: Is there a better way to do this? (a bit long of a read)

First, you are the man for some great suggestions! I tend to overthink and underplan. Starting off ignorant and hopefully finding a "working" solution by beating my head against something very thick. Thick wall, thicker skull.... :D I'll put some actual work in instead of thinking about it and repor...

Re: Is there a better way to do this? (a bit long of a read)

I ran two tests here: 1st tried the same script with the "print 'messageObj:', eg.event.payload.messageObj" commented out since it threw the exception Python Script arcomm: armessage: play test radio arpar: [u'play', u'test', u'radio'] files: [] plugin: <eg.CorePluginModule.AutoRemote.AutoRemote obj...
