Re: Infrared over WiFi

well it gets better then that, once I get the thing running correctly. The DIY comment goes much much further. I don't try to come up with solutions that are "DIY" I strive to find the solution that puts the smallest dent possible in the wallet. IDK if you have ever heard of an ESP32. It's a micro c...

Re: Z-Wave

I hate to be the bringer of bad news... This plugin is not for controlling/accessing ZWave devices that are attached to a standalone controller, it is designed to be the controller. You need to get a USB Z-Stick like what Aeon labs makes to use the plugin. But then again it might not be bad news. a ...

Re: Microsoft MCE Remote - Vista and newer

@Crowley This error The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request. I believe is because of another application attempting to access the IR receiver at the same time as the plugin. Now that I think about it, it could be because the plugin is attempting t...

Re: Plugin multitap

OK so what key is that in English? send that instead of the special character. Maybe that will work? I honestly do not know how Windows handles this kind of a mapping. one would make the assumption that by using the english character that maps to the same key would map the keycode properly. There ar...

Re: Smartthings will not work with EG

The error you are showing has been fixed and the fix will be included in the next release. As far as the connection to ST not working. Check your network card binding order. for some reason Microsoft decided that they needed to change the binding order with the last Windows 10 update. To change the ...

Re: Microsoft MCE Remote - Vista and newer

I do use an IR extender with blasters You will no longer need things like this....you will be able to put a receiver and a blaster in each room if you want for < 10.00 USD each. I already started working on an IR over IP device and network protocol and one that is able to stream as the code comes i...

Re: Microsoft MCE Remote - Vista and newer

You have to bear with me with this decoder. It is EXTREMELY complex and there is a large amount of code in it. This decoder is not cut and dry like the last one. The reason why is because of the large number of IR protocols that it supports. and there is also a slew of other things that were done in...

Re: Microsoft MCE Remote - Vista and newer

I know about the "double" buttons with the old decoder. that is because the old decoder was not decoding properly and it didn't handle the toggle bits properly. each time you press and release a button 2 codes are sent. The first one tells us that the button has been pressed. and the second one tell...

Re: Microsoft MCE Remote - Vista and newer

OK I updated the plugin. you will have to uninstall the current test version of EG and then install the new version. This is because of what I have changed. I do plan on making a way to upgrade the decoder without having to do a full release of EG. https://ci.appveyor.com/api/buildjobs/9jl5gt49lrbob...

Re: Microsoft MCE Remote - Vista and newer

@Crowley I was looking at the raw timings from your receiver... They are all over the board. Here is an example. The lead in burst for the MCE is supposed to be 2664us and then a pause of 888us. your receiver is spitting out 2750, -800 for one code and then 2550, -1000 another time and 2650, -950 an...

Re: Microsoft MCE Remote - Vista and newer

Edit 2: It seems I have to check friendly names when installing the plugin, otherwise I will get the reg errors back and it will not work again untill I reinstall Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver driver. I did add the macro you asked, here is the output of a few dozen ok presses. I'll use paste...

Re: Python 3.7

In other words, thanks but no thanks.  Not true. It is a complex thing to do and it will definitely help you in learning Python. It is not going to be easy tho. I have the core of Python converted already and it runs just fine. It's the plugins. I wanted to get some form of a plugin repo...
