Re: MQTT Client

@cableghost HASS is known to have latency issues and the latency gets worse the more devices you have in it. MQTT is pretty much the only API that HASS has available to it so you are kind of stuck using that. MQTT is not an easy thing to set up for your average user. I know you said you have some ex...

Re: Python 3.7

Ohhhhhh.... I really would like to remove the reliance on stackless that is going to take some doing tho. You should hold off for a bit on this. I am also making a plugin repositoy so that we can keep track of the plugins.

Re: Z-Wave

Good deal on figuring out how to get it running. That error is because of an incompatibility between Stackless Python 2.7 and how Cython compiled the ZWave extension (DLL) that the plugin uses. This problem has been fixed in newer versions of Stackless Python and I will be updating the Python versio...

Re: Microsoft MCE Remote - Vista and newer

@Crowley That IO error you were getting is being caused by what I thought it was. It has to do with accessing a device multiple times. I fixed this so internally it cannot happen from within the plugin. I do not have control over having another application accessing it at the same time that EG is. I...

Re: Microsoft MCE Remote - Vista and newer

I took a break from working on this plugin for a week. I was starting to tear my hair out with it. There is a newer version of it that can be run tho there is an issue with how it handles unicode. I thought I had fixed the issue but apparently not. I am not sure what is so different between my test ...

Re: Plugin multitap

OK. I have found a way to do it. There is a single catch tho you will not be able to specify the window you want to send the keystrokes to, so the application you want to receive the keyboard input must have focus (the active window). when I use the term window I mean any class instance that is a su...

Re: Arduino / Raspberri communication with EG

You are going to want to run an Arduino Mega 2560 at a minimum. Also using an Arduino as a battery powered device I do not think would work well given the size of the battery you would need to run it for sustained periods of time. That being said. To send/receive you will need this plugin installed ...

Re: Start/Stop windows services?

With EG anything is possible!!! But to answer your question, Yes you can start and stop services. To get the exact service name of the service you want to start and stop you can run this command from a command prompt sc query create a macro and in that macro add in the System - > Run Command action....

Re: Python 3.7

OK use the attached file instead. You will need to change the extension from .zip to .whl use the same command as before just replace the url with the path and filename where you saved it to on your computer. Be sure to wrap the path and filename with double quotes if there are any spaces in the pat...

Re: Z-Wave

The ST hub is like most other give out there. Extremely underpowered and overloaded. The ST documentation is not great I have also heard from others. When Samsung dumped supporting my washing machine and dryer only after 4 years I was kind of made. This was the single largest reason why I had purcha...

well it gets better then that, once I get the thing running correctly. The DIY comment goes much much further. I don't try to come up with solutions that are "DIY" I strive to find the solution that puts the smallest dent possible in the wallet. IDK if you have ever heard of an ESP32. It's a micro c...

Re: Z-Wave

I hate to be the bringer of bad news... This plugin is not for controlling/accessing ZWave devices that are attached to a standalone controller, it is designed to be the controller. You need to get a USB Z-Stick like what Aeon labs makes to use the plugin. But then again it might not be bad news. a ...
