Re: Admin Rights At Login

ok I need clarification on exactly what you are wanting EventGhost to do. It sounds like you are wanting EventGhost to remap Alt+F4 to the F10 key. Is this correct? Antivirus programs do not play nice with programs that have keyboard hooks. a keyboard hook is asking Windows to tell a program when a ...

Re: New version 0.5.0-rc6 is out

start EventGhost and then make a new save file. Save the empty file then close and restart EventGhost and see if the high CPU use is still there. I am pretty sure it will be gone. If it is gone then load you original save file. one at a time disable each plugin restarting EventGhost after you disabl...

Re: Help.. how OSD not working with Japanese fonts

unicode problems in Python 2.7 are a pain to deal with. Give the code below a shot and see if it works. I might have to decode to latin1 and then encode to utf-8 or just decode as utf-8 or it could be encode then decode. I can't remember off hand. I will get it working for you tho # this try/except ...

Re: Pulse-Eight CEC +

The settings aren't "gone" they are saved. They are base64 encoded. I have something wrong in the config dialog and it's not selecting the device automatically for you. But when you select it and close the dialog it is in fact getting saved properly. It is a bug, but it is not one that breaks the pl...

Re: "Minimize to Tray" command bug when screen is turned off

So I was reading through the code for EventGhost specifically the section of code that handles programmatic changes to a windows visual state. There are concessions that have been made to handle destroying the icon when the applications visual state changes through the use of an action in EventGhost...

Re: EventGhost Systray icon color

@snowbird I can add this feature fairly easily. But I raise questions as to why multiple copies of EventGhost are running. While you can do this it really only has a specific reason for allowing it. and that is to copy information from one tree to another. EG is not written in a manner that makes it...

Re: "Minimize to Tray" command bug when screen is turned off

OK so here is the skinny on how this works. Right now EG grabs the icon from the application and uses that icon to create a tray icon and then it hides the application. there is a single thing this icon does. when clicked on it shows the original application. There in lies the problem. if the applic...

Re: "Minimize to Tray" command bug when screen is turned off

That would be a bug in Windows and nothing to do with EventGhost. I can check and see if there is a way I can force a refresh of your desktop/start bar but there is still a chance it will not work.

Re: "Minimize to Tray" command bug when screen is turned off

if the "Minimize to Tray" command is used to minimize a window to the Windows System Tray what command are you referring to? bar the icon gets orphaned when the screen is turned off. When the icon is clicked the window isn't restored. Which icon? The EG icon? If the window is restored by the "Resto...

No problem homie. It took me a while to get EG to play nice with an IDE. I have done the DUH! many times until I got it working right.

Re: Python 3.7

Ya lost me on that one.... When you compile EG there is an option to "build static imports" this option creates a file and once that file is made then you can add EG as a source path once you add EG as a source path and all of the code completion and type hinting starts working. If you are editing E...

Re: CPU Monitor with Blink(1)

The library in it's present form will not work correctly with EventGhost. I an working with the creator of the blink(1) and I am making the necessary changes to the library so it will work correctly. Give me a few more days to finish up hammering out things and I will put together a plugin for it. I...

Re: CPU Monitor with Blink(1)

they have a Python SDK available for it.
https://pypi.org/project/blink1/

so it wouldn't be that hard to interface with it.
