Re: CEC Adapter not waking amp

That depends. CEC is a bus, so everything you want to control has to be connected via an HDMI cable. Now whether or not your video card supports CEC or not and if it has the 2 HDMI lines are connected together is the question of the day. I do not have an answer to this. You will have to hook it all u...

Re: Z-Wave

OK you have what is called a multichannel device. Multichannel devices are not supported in the current version of the plugin. I did start working on a new version of the plugin. I have not finished it yet as it is a HUGE undertaking. The new version of the plugin when i release it will support mult...

Re: Color Suggestions Needed

In my media room I used a dark peanut butter color for the walls. I added some white to the same color and lightened it up a lot and used that on the ceiling. On 2 ends of the room there is a kind of step out where the lower half of the wall is thicker then the upper, I used a dark brown on that. I ...

Re: Admin Rights At Login

the data comes in from various places, USB, Serial, Network, Wireless. what you do in Python is you make a bridge to the connection type and you listen for information coming in. The hard part is sometimes parsing that information, you may have to send a request out that connection in order to get t...

Re: Admin Rights At Login

I do not know how old you are, but I will say that you are never to old to try something new and never to old to learn. The curve may have changed but the ability is still there. Having the Basic programming knowledge is going to help a huge amount. You should have an understanding of how the data s...

Re: Admin Rights At Login

Python is probably one of the easiest programming languages to learn. The vocabulary makes sense. As with any programming language it is all about vocabulary and syntax. Python is nice because it doesn't use special characters to define blocks of code. If you have an android device you can search th...

Re: Admin Rights At Login

Luckily I don't like people to much and I decided to buy a house in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. 20 minutes to get to a gas station moving about 50mph. Needless to say I don't interact with very many physical human beings, so I have a low chance of contracting the virus. I am healthy and I take ...

Re: Admin Rights At Login

Hey no worries. If there was a way to make it work without compromising security I would tell you. Anti virus programs are kind of a bullshit program, the best way to keep your system from getting a virus is to not download and install one LOL. basically don't answer the door when it comes a knockin...

Re: Admin Rights At Login

OK so if you have removed Norton your original issue with the Key strokes not getting logged no longer exists, so starting EG as an Administrator at startup is irreverent. See where I am coming from? The whole reason for starting EG as an Administrator was so that it could deal with the Norton issue...

Re: Admin Rights At Login

If your problem only exists with Norton Then it is how Norton is written. Windows has a notification system, this system notifies applications of various things that take place. one of those things is key presses. Windows is going to go down the ZOrder and tell each application what the key press is...

I do not know what you mean by not the results you were expecting. If you can elaborate on that some I should be able to help. I disabled the AntiVirus protection as well OK so now I am not understanding the problem in it's entirety. Your original problem was that EG would not log keystrokes only wh...

Re: Event on external monitor on/off

OK if it is a laptop it is not going to work. You need an RS232 adapter not a Serial TTL adapter. a lot of USB to serial adapter manufacturers tell you it's RS232 when in fact it really is not. USB only has a 5volt output so there for the data lines in the serial will only have a max range of +5 to ...
