I have updated the plugin with exception catching and a little better unicode decoding. I have done this for all places where any decoding was done.

The updated version is attached.
Hi, great ! I will give it a try. Thank you

Re: MQTT Client

This plugin is one of the most stable around, I've been using it for almost a year daily and never experienced what you are describing. It must be a very rare situation, the error you got is about character encoding/decoding, UTF-8 is the most used and compatible character set. Can you reproduce th...

Re: MQTT Client

Hello, I experienced a bug due to an unhandled error in MQTT plugin. This is caused by a corrupted message received and not the plugin itself. But failure in handling this corrupted message crashed both instances of MQTT plugin threads that were running on 2 machines. It would be nice if receiving c...

Re: Speech

I see what ya did here. I do not use this plugin at all. So I do not know what the original plugin does when you have it speak 2 times. Does it speak one right over he other? Does it stop the one then play the other? Does it play one after the other with or without a pause? When Speech is called 2 ...

Re: Speech

it would be nice to have an option in the Speak action to choose between queing the speech to the on-going speech (this is the current behaviour) or to interrrupt the on-going speech to speak the new text. This can be useful when handling different speech priorities. I made a dirty change to Speech ...

Re: MQTT Client

Hi, you just need to change the ID, you are using the same ID twice "979305467018", that's why it is looping, just change it to whatever you want, for example "123451234" it doesn't matter as long as you use it once and only once. You probably replied before I edited my post. Thank you for the supp...

Re: MQTT Client

Hello Walter, In this topic I had endless connection/deconnection loop with your Paho-based plugin and my warkaround was... to stick to the old Mosquitto-based one. I just found the issue with the Paho plugin when posting this post (this is why it has been edited): to create a 2nd subscription, I co...

Re: LIRC Client

Hello, This is the endless looping errors I get when Eg starts with Lirc plugin configured to listen to a remote computer which is offline. 17:25:14 LIRC Client: Disconnected from the LIRC server! 17:25:14 LIRC Client: Disconnected from the LIRC server! 17:25:20 LIRC Client: Disconnected from the LI...

Re: MQTT Client

I think for now, it would be easier for me to just add support for openHAB in a special section. Could we agree that '/openHAB/' is a required part of the topics? If so, you could try the attached version where I have added code to handle this. With this you should get all events, even replicas. Fr...

Re: MQTT Client

I think the above is correct since the code is written in such a way that it by default will block repeated events (I think in this case during 1 second). You can see that you received one event each for '02', '03', '04' and '05' which is what I expected. Maybe this is what is causing the problem f...

Re: MQTT Client

To add a print statement you could try (search for line 222) and add the print statement as below: def on_message(client, userdata, msg): print client, userdata, msg.payload Below the result of the test with the logging you suggested. As you can see, there are more messages received by your Plugin ...

Re: MQTT Client

Hello, 1) Where do you run the MQTT broker and what OS is used in that environment? I am running Mosquitto broker on the same computer as the one running Eg. It is a Win10 OS :| But again, for me the broker is not the cause as any other subscriber to the test topic correctly receives all messages p...

Re: MQTT Client

Hello Walter, Do you have to publish and subscribe to the same topic? Maybe that is conflicting in your setup with openHAB? You could eventually try to have separate topics for sending & receiving. You are right: openHab uses 2 topics for MQTT communication. One openhab/in/# for inbound traffic and ...

Re: MQTT Client

not to trigger eg events when sent repeateadly You cannot send the events that fast I think, try to insert a short time.sleep(0.1) in you script (modification below is for the paho version and my configuration but you get the idea) Hello Walter, Thank you for replying so fast. Adding a pause does n...
