Re: libCEC plugin for Pulse Eight HDMI-CEC usb adapter

@linkmk - make sure that the HDMI-CEC adapter is powered-up and plugged-in to the HDMI inputs on the TV (and/or any HDMI switches) before you turn on the TV.

Re: libCEC plugin for Pulse Eight HDMI-CEC usb adapter

Is Plex trying to communicate with the CEC adapter hardware? If so, then it is not possible for two programs to communicate with the same hardware at the same time. The Event Ghost plugin has already opened the COM port for communication with the CEC adapter. If Plex tries to open the same COM port,...

Re: X10 Wireless is bankrupt/closed. Please help?

Interesting. I still have the first Insteon devices which I bought in 2007, and they still work fine. I have been through several 2412N controllers though.

Re: HDMI-CEC to USB EG Support for Pulse Eight

Hi Richard,

I would be interested in seeing your plugin. Kasinator's plugin has been working well for me, but it is fairly cryptic to configure for a novice. If yours has easier configuration, and generates events which are in plain English, I think it would be a great improvement.

Re: Insteon Plug-ins for ISY-26/99i and SmartLinc (with X10)

It's been a long time since I studied the Insteon protocol, but I seem to remember that the message length is in the message somewhere, and there are some starting bits too. Couldn't the plugin be written to loop on each message when it receives what appears to be a bunch of messages appended togeth...

Re: Yamaha RX-Vxxx (or similar) Ethernet Plugin!

Are you trying to communicate with the AVR while it is powered off? If so, you need to set the option in the AVR's menu to keep the Ethernet port turned on even when the AVR is off. I can't remember the name of the option. It's one of the power saving options.

Re: libCEC plugin for Pulse Eight HDMI-CEC usb adapter

Kasinator, I'm not sure what you mean by "which configurations". Do you mean what CE components we are using? I'm using a Samsung plasma TV model PN64D8000, a Yamaha AVR model RX-A2010, a Windows 7 Media Center PC, and a Roku 3 (which doesn't respond to CEC commands, but I am "emulating" the Roku in...

I posted my EG config in this post:

Take a look at it. I'm sure you'll figure it out.

Re: Eventghost Online

Are you using the Autoremote plugin for Google Chrome on the PC where EG is installed? With this, I don't have problems with the messages getting from Autoremote to EG, or vice-versa.

Re: Eventghost Online

Since you already use Tasker, check out Auto Remote in the Google Play store. It works with Tasker and EventGhost.

Re: Respond to WMC channel change

My first piece of advice would be to ditch the cable box and buy a CableCARD tuner. I assume that you're in the USA? Silicondust, Hauppauge, and Ceton make a variety of CableCARD tuners, ranging from 2-tuner models all the way up to 6-tuner models which only require a single CableCARD. Your cable co...

Re: resume windows7 from standby

Make sure that BIOS is set to allow USB devices to wake the system. Some motherboards even have a jumper which must be changed for this (jumper must be set before you can see the BIOS option), so check your motherboard manual and change the jumper if necessary. Then, go into Windows Control Panel ->...

Re: libCEC plugin for Pulse Eight HDMI-CEC usb adapter

Is there a way to use this plugin while cec is enabled in xbmc? No. The CEC adapter looks like a COM port to Windows. When the COM port is opened by one program, it cannot be opened by another program at the same time. While I have cec enabled in xbmc everything works well. If I disable cec in xbmc...

Re: libCEC plugin for Pulse Eight HDMI-CEC usb adapter

I have it setup to work both ways. That way, I don't have to give a visitor a 15 minute training class on how to use my programmable remote. I can just hand them the simple TV remote, and away they go.
