Re: New way to get MCE Remote signals in EG (for Vista/Win7)

I guess I'd say I just made the service well behaved in the presence of crap. There really isn't anything I can do to pull IR signals out when there is a lot of interference, but the service shouldn't need to be restarted when it gets hit with a lot of interference. I'm not seeing the interference m...

Re: New way to get MCE Remote signals in EG (for Vista/Win7)

Can you try copying the files in the attached zip over the files in the plugin directory and testing if they help?

The default directory will be
C:\Program Files\EventGhost\plugins\MceRemote_Vista on x86
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\plugins\MceRemote_Vista on x64.

Re: Webserver plugin - associate events with action

You should be able to use something like "*{?}ay*" and "*{?}by*" in your events to wildcard and get those groups into a single action for each program. Is that what you are looking for? The "*" is a multi character wildcard, and the "?" character is a single character wildcard. The "{?}" is necessar...

Re: EG blocking remote messages to other applications

That's kinda the point, isn't it? EG is intended to run in the background, and the OS only sends the remote keys to the foreground app. So if you have EG get the signals instead of the OS, you have more flexibility in controlling where the events go. But you do have to define where the events go. Br...

Re: New way to get MCE Remote signals in EG (for Vista/Win7)

Seems to be a bit of missanderstanding here, sorry about that. No problem, thanks for your patience.... Yes it has always detected my MCE remote as an unknown with this service and this plugin. So can't be that EG doesnt have a decoder. That's not necessarily true. The original plugin has a decoder...

Re: New way to get MCE Remote signals in EG (for Vista/Win7)

When you said "My MCE remote was working well with the reciever before" I thought you meant using this plugin. I think I inferred wrong - you meant using the driver that came with Windows, right? Then when you installed the service for this remote it has always detected Unknowns? That would indicate...

Re: New way to get MCE Remote signals in EG (for Vista/Win7)

What changed in your setup? Different lighting? Moved the sensor? Something w/software should be included on the list, but I find that causing the problem as very unlikely, as it is the receiver hardware that measures the duration of each IR pulse. In software I connect to the device and pass around...

Re: Sending requests to eg via HTML statement

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking. The only trick is to run the webserver plugin. Did you check this out?

Re: New way to get MCE Remote signals in EG (for Vista/Win7)

I got the IR code to be learned from the samsung TV remote Any ideas on what I am missing? is it the frequency of the blaster? Is the blaster blinking when you transmit? If so, it is physically sending something. You might try getting codes from remotecentral and seeing if that works? It could be t...

Re: Two Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceivers

The "old" plugin will only work on Win7 if you run as an administrator and turn off UAC. It sounds like it was working before you installed the new card, so maybe you already are set up this way. The new plugin should work without these changes. I'm not sure what you mean by "[even though no remote ...

Re: New version is out!

So then, what do you mean "by looking into it"? I meant that I'd made a post in the moderator forum that you apparently didn't see :D Next time please pm me or something. Will do. @Livin, The new release has a bunch of plugins from the forums built into the package. I think if your setup is working...

Re: New version is out!

I think he's asking why the new download is available from satori-project.com and not the downloads link on eventghost.net. Most people will just follow the download link and assume that is the most recent version and it isn't.

Re: Begginer Questions

1) Depends on the OS. The MceRemote plugin that comes with previous versions of EG works best on XP and doesn't support IR blasting. Does support receiving. There's also MceRemote_Vista, which works on Vista/Win7 (not XP). It supports receiving and blasting. If you grab the download linked here , it...

Re: New version is out!

That is being looked into. Bitmonster had the process automated for his system and the old site, which doesn't translate to the new site. So this is the best we can do for now.
