Re: killer pvr software

I did think my TV was reasonably new but when I think about it properly and put it into the context of other events in my life it is definitely pre 2013 so it's not a recent model. It does screeen casting, DLNA and has a smart hub but clearly it's not post 2016. I think it's an E series if memory se...

Re: killer pvr software

Yeah - I've tried that before on earlier versions of MediaPortal. I haven't tried it recently in my new build. I didn't have any success. It is certainly true that you can specify different codecs within MediaPortal and choose the PowerDVD one if you have it installed. It seemed though (although I c...

Re: killer pvr software

Well yes, I could go the AnyDVD route, which I think is the SlySoft program you're referring to. I've read the latest forums on that and there seem to be people having problems with newer discs / different types of encryption and I can't afford the wife disapproval of not being able to play a disc b...

Re: Samsung Smart TV Plus

Can I second rdgerken's request for an up-to-date link to a download for the plugin? I've been through the thread and none of the links work any more. Last part of my media setup would be to have proper control of the TV. I'm happy to test stuff out too Kevin. To be honest I can't remember when I bo...

Re: killer pvr software

Update... Well I dug deeper into the Findwindow action and sure enough I should have looked for hidden items (I thought I did! Clearly not) I never did work out what selecting the item on the tray menu meant but making the main but hidden MediaPortal window active using Findwindow and then sending a...

Re: killer pvr software

Because MP won't play encrypted Blurays, in other words just about any movie in Bluray format. So if I need PowerDVD for Blurays I might as well use PowerDVD for all movies. One interface to learn, one set of remote codes to set up and one wife that doesn't have to think whether the disk she's putti...

Re: killer pvr software

Haha I dug around a bit on the forums and found an updated version of the Eventghostplus plugin for MediaPortal and that loaded OK. The one that is available on the MediaPortal page deosn't work any more, which is disappointing and makes MediaPortal look bad but I am glad I am back with MediaPortal....

Re: Z-Wave

LOL - I know what you mean! Home automation is not being able to control your heating from your phone. Home automation is not having to think about your heating at all because it does it automatically. And if it needs to know something, you tell it a simple thing like "I'm going to be at home tomorr...

Re: Z-Wave

If you had the ability to do the above would you? What is your reasoning behind running on a Raspberry Pi? Yes I would! The reason I am running Openab on a Raspberry Pi is that is just works. I have limited time for the hardware side of my home automation let alone the software side and there is a ...

Re: killer pvr software

Hi Kevin Just found this thread. I noticed your setup used Mediportal with Eventghost. Can I ask what version of Mediaportal you are using? I tried the latest 1.22 version recently and I couldn't get the Eventghost plugins to work with it. Eventghost seemed fine but the plugins at the Mediaportal en...

Re: Z-Wave

That's great. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can come up with. The problem I have found with Zwave is that most of the systems that use it are so abstracted from what's going on underneath that you have very little detailed level contol. You have the functionality that is made available to y...

Re: Z-Wave

Thanks Kevin Part of my question was whether the Zwave stick had to be the master controller; I believe - if I understand it correctly - there is only one master controller in a network. So the question is, if I had two zwave sticks, could one talk to the network from a Windows PC and give me all th...

Re: Z-Wave

Hi I'd like to try this plugin. Is there someone there with a copy because the links on the first page don't work any more? I have one other question too. Does the plugin need the Eventghost machine with the Z-wave controller in it need that controller to be the master controller? I have an RPi runn...

Re: Pulse-Eight CEC +

Well, I had an absorbing afternoon playing with the CEC plugin, trying to find out what my TV and AV amp will do and what they will not do. I have a couple of questions. My current setup is (or was) my PC and two other tuner devices (one terrestrial TV STB and one internet streaming HDMI dongle) all...
