Re: Philips Hue plugin

Are you all also seeing the same behavior I described above: http://eventghost.net/forum/viewtopic.p ... 578#p53578

Re: Webserver

Still not had any time to experiment but been doing a little research. Based on what I saw, the Plex API (which is unofficial) doesn't send events based on playback automatically, but you can query it for all sorts of information. Since it's not official I'd rather not use it for fear of it breaking...

Re: Webserver

Probably, but that adds an unnecessary layer I think. Webhooks seem more reliable in this case I think. Hopefully I get some time soon to dive into this.

Re: Webserver

I thought about trying to write a EG plugin. Pretty much just need a web server that listens for the Webhooks and then fires an event when it gets a payload. Then use a python script in EG to dissect the payload and perform an action. I’ll have to study up on python first tho.

Re: Webserver

do you have an example of the data you are being sent? Sort of. I am running Homebridge on my Mac, and so I put it into debug mode to print out everything being sent to it. Re: Webserver

That would be cool! For ports, only in the url the webhook posts to, like http://192.168.0.100:80

There are a few examples of using node.js to parse the payload and control hue lights, so in theory I could adapt these to send events to EG, but better if there’s not a middle layer.

Re: Webserver

Thanks, I get it now. I was able to see it working in EG by using the POSTMAN extension in Chrome.

Unfortunately, Plex does not let me alter the payload data sent, so I can't add the TriggerEvent. What options are left do you think?

Re: Webserver

yeah, tried most every variation I can think of... the data is being sent, but the event name is never shown, which is a problem. According to the Plex docs, "the payload is sent in JSON format inside a multipart HTTP POST request."

Now my knowledge of HTTP is limited, but could this be the issue?

Hi

Any plans to add support for the RX-Axxxx line of receivers? If not, do you know of any alternatives?

thx

Re: Philips Hue plugin

Yes thank you again for posting the updated version :)

I tried it, but the same behavior exists... opening the settings for the change light actions causes it to default to the same light every time versus the light the action was originally assigned to.

Re: Webserver

@kgschlosser Thank you for that pretty detailed explanation. I'm trying to utilize Plex Webhooks to monitor when a video is playing. I've set them up to send the JSON payload to EG using this url: http://192.168.0.105:80?PlexEvent I can see the payload is being sent in the EG log window, however the...

Re: Webserver

Hi, Read thru most of this post but did not see my answer. I'm wanting to send a json object to the EG web server, but not sure what the steps are to make use of the json data inside EG. Basically I want to read the json data object, then in EG fire events based on evaluation of that data. Could som...

Re: Philips Hue plugin

It seems that no matter what action I use now, after selecting which light in the action settings dialog, when I close the dialog and reopen, the previously selected light is no longer selected. I believe this behavior started after upgrading to the newer square bridge. I'm stuck using an older vers...

Re: Philips Hue plugin

Hi,

The link in the first post to the newer version doesn't work it seems.

As per the Administrator's post on the hosting server, the file is likely gone, so if anyone that has a copy of the updated version could post it here that would be appreciated.

thanks
