Re: MouseEvent Plugin

Oh boy. If you could see my PM inbox and the number of people that feel just like you do. No most users are not devs. I get a tremendous amount of PM's asking how to do things. I understand as to why. But never be afraid to ask a question. especially if there is someone there to to answer it. Now I ...

Re: MouseEvent Plugin

I have tried to replicate this on my home system and it work fine. Give this a shot create a blank tree. save the blank tree. then exit eventghost. start eventghost back up. this should reload the blank tree and it also makes sure there is no residue for any plugins still kicking about. Install the ...

Re: MouseEvent Plugin

I want to know why it is installing as a python command instead of an action. You will need to try something for me. Change that command to

eg.result = eg.plugins.MouseEvent.GetLastWheelEvent()

And see if it works then. I will take a look as soon as I get home.

Re: Pulse-Eight CEC +

the splitter has to be designed as a CEC hub or pass through. otherwise it will not work.

Re: MouseEvent Plugin

OK. it seems as tho you have the MouseEvent.GetLastWheelEvent action disabled for starters. But it also appears as tho that is not the action. but it is a Python Command. try deleting the action and remaking it. Something happened as some point in time where the plugin had an error on startup. when ...

Re: bug with command line "eventghost.exe -e"

OK i have done some work on this as it appears some folks were still having issues. I wrote a pure python implementation dealing with windows named pipes. This is what i have managed to do. if i start 5000 threads one right after the other and each one makes a connection and then sends 1000 messages...

Re: MouseEvent Plugin

@zian are you looking in the program files (x86)/eventghost/plugins/mouseevent folder when you are checking the version? That is not where the plugin gets installed. It gets installed into programdata/eventghost/plugins/mouseevent You can also check the version of the plugin by opening the add plugi...

Re: Define a dictionary during its first update, is this possible ?

I know this is really hard to wrap your noggin around. My bean is throbbing just typing this out. and I think I am having flashbacks of when i was trying to understand this. and I didn't have anyone to explain it to me. So if you need me to give a poke at it again but maybe describing it differently...

Re: Define a dictionary during its first update, is this possible ?

very very very close. global is only global to the space where it was declared global in so in the next 3 code snippits the first one will not work. Because the global was not set in the same namespace where the TEST variable gets reset. The second does work. and the 3rd is an oddity because in orde...

Re: Define a dictionary during its first update, is this possible ?

nope i didn't say that global variables are pointers to locals. i said that mutable variables can have pointers to it. It is very difficult to explain this in a manner that is not going to confuse the hell out of ya because of the use of the term "globals" as an example in a python script if you do ...

Re: Define a dictionary during its first update, is this possible ?

and you can define a global right out of the gate if you want eg.globals.mydict = getattr(eg.globals, 'mydict', {}) the getattr is used to get an attribute. so we want to get the attribute mydict from eg.globals. and the {} on the end is if the attribute does not exist. the reason for setting it bac...

Re: Define a dictionary during its first update, is this possible ?

ok. so this is how the python scripts work. If the script gets run any variables you set in it the first time will get carried over to the second time you run it. and since there is no real way of knowing if it has been run before other then duck typing or asking if the variable is there. example of...
