Re: Youtube Event

Here are 2 other ways of checking if a window is in full screen mode. it does not require the use of task monitor plus. Both of these query the Windows API directly. You do need to use the Find Window action. If the Window is not a custom drawn window both methods should work. if it is a custom draw...

Re: Get Item State, misunderstanding?

no worries m8, I do the same thing when i look at my code. especially if it was something i wrote a long while ago. I also know how it is if you shift back and forth between languages. It is very easy to get things all mixed up. The tutorial is also for any others out there trying to learn python. t...

Re: Serial control of the Oppo BDP-103

In order to have pycharm work properly you will need to also have python 2.7 installed. make sure you install the 32 bit version create a folder under %programdata%\eventghost\plugins called OppoDigital go into that folder. copy the path in the address bar. open pycharm. click on file ----> New proj...

Re: Z-Wave

ok after more reading on this.. There could be an issue with some old dll files you might have on your system. Not sure but you can check search your windows folder for these 3 files mkl_core.dll mkl_def.dll mkl_intel_thread.dll if you find them ad .bak to the end of the filename. we want to make su...

Re: Z-Wave

I can see where the error is coming from But i do not know why it is happening. I am almost wondering if it is because the DLL is built upon installing Numpy. and it has to be built for the target OS.

what OS are you running??

Re: Z-Wave

I believe i found the error. It seems as tho there is a pyd file that is trying to load several other dll files. specifically msvcrt90.dll, python27.dll and libopenblas.KZGMSHIV2CB7DB4HQYDV2LEPUALNSYMY.gfortran-win32.dll the first 2 come with EG. so i added the eg main directory to the environment p...

Re: Serial control of the Oppo BDP-103

I think that would be a great first official plugin for you. The API is not complex. tho it could have been written differently and also to include the whole command and not pieces of it. If you look at the examples at the end of the API spec you should see what I am talking about. they show it in t...

Re: Get Item State, misunderstanding?

and you are correct about the use of the Get Item State action. it does test if an item is enabled or disabled and it will set eg.result to True or False NOTE... if you copy and paste an action into a python script and you see XmlIdLink in it. you cannot use this action as python code. it can only b...

Re: Get Item State, misunderstanding?

well first off you have a syntax error in the python script. I am going to give you a quick rundown on python syntax. if eg.result = true: print('enabled') elif eg.result = false: print('disabled') unlike C or C++ python cares a whole lot about indenting and spaces. it is how it knows what to run an...

Re: Serial control of the Oppo BDP-103

also I know you wanted to learn python. So why don't we do this. How about this be your first plugin.. You have the whole API for your player. Read it. start off with the connection bits for the IP control. since this is something that can already do. I will give you a few pointers. UDP broadcast pa...

Re: Serial control of the Oppo BDP-103

it is up to you what you would like to do. I have almost all of the IP control plugin made for your player. It uses the exact same command structure as the Serial control and both types of control are exactly identical. I do hate the chinese manufacturers that call the USB to TTL serial adapters USB...

Re: Serial control of the Oppo BDP-103

now from what I am reading is that the 103 only supports RS-232 control. or so it says. what I find strange is that it also states that you can control it via an app on a portable device. which i do not think that it would use RS-232 for this. If you look at the 203 it too supports the same apps. bu...

Re: Serial control of the Oppo BDP-103

The BDP-103/105 Blu-ray Disc Player comes standard with an RS-232 port for wired remote control. The RS-232C port is configured as a DCE device using a female 9-pin D-Sub type connector. the USB to serial adapter will not work. You are going to need to get a serial header adapter plate so you can p...

Re: Serial control of the Oppo BDP-103

OK this is where i hate to throw the wrench into your gears. You stated that the player has RS232 control. this is not going to work with a USB to serial adapter. serial is not necessarily RS-232. RS-232 is a connection type that uses serial data communications. RS-232 is a +- 12V communications. A ...
