Re: hold down a key

Typically you'd use a find window/bring to front action before sending the keys. I seem to recall this program had problems being pulled up via this method in the past. Have you tried doing it that way yet? Are you wanting to cycle through each of these like this? press 1 = Q+1 press 2 = Q+2 press 3...

Re: hold down a key

Okay, it's an error related to the timer plugin. I think it's stock to e.g.. Try adding the timer plugin to your tree(add the keyboard plugin too if it's not already). Then try repasting the xml.

Re: hold down a key

It's not a script, it's several macros in xml. Select/copy Code. Within eventghost, right click somewhere in your e.g. tree & choose paste. This will add a folder & three macros to your tree.

Re: hold down a key

Does the send keys action with "set buttons down" parameter not work for your situation? Kinda need to know what your trying to do to solve this better. This should accomplish what your wanting. It's gonna cause some lag if you try to repeat the key too often. Keep it above 0.2 <?xml version="1.0" e...

Re: Can I use the EG Webserver plugin to publish m3u lists

It's eg anything's possible. I'd have to see a sample m3u playlist, but it wouldn't take a lot to get a ui for it going. I use a hdhomerun for ota broadcasts. What are you using to build the playlist?

Re: Can I use the EG Webserver plugin to publish m3u lists

When you say publish. Do you mean [1], display items in the m3u? Or [2], store the items for retrieval? If it's the latter. Store the m3u file in the web servers root folder. Then you can access it from any pc via html link like this.

'IP:Port/filename.m3u'

Re: I would like EventGhost to perform an action when I plug in my phone

Your right, it doesn't seem to be totally constant. When i plugged my phone in today. It gave me a similar, but not identical payload. So far for me it seems to be constant at the beginning with this portion unchanged. '\\\\?\\USB#VID_04E8&PID_6860#'. Everything after has changed though. I'll keep a...

Re: Trigger only when event is detected 'x' times in 'y' seconds

See if this doesn't suite your purpose. I set it up to test with the keyboard plugin. It will generate an event when you type more than 3 keys in a second. Change the 'maxEvent' & 'timePeriod' variables at the top to fit your needs. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <EventGhost Version="0.5.0-...

Re: I would like EventGhost to perform an action when I plug in my phone

You're on the right track, you'll need a bit of python to do this. You've got the correct event, you're just missing the payload values attached to it. When EG detects a device connect/disconnect it generates a single System.DeviceAttached event. However after the event you'll see something similar ...

Re: Use of Event wildcard in code ?

I'm not sure if what you want is possible from script. You can use startswith() or the re module to accomplish this though.

Code: Select all

string = "System.PowerProfile."
match = eg.event.string.startswith(string)
if match == True:
     # wildcard was met, execute code
     print 'wildcard'

Re: Anyone willing to collaborate on a Spotify Web API plugin?

Personally, I HATE plugins that self load all actions to the tree. I'd say allow the user to select scope from a dropdown or checkbox. Then seperate the scopes actions into seperate folders. That way the user knows which actions can be used. We can use a dict to hold the different scopes parameters....
