Re: Amazon Echo Skill EchoToEventGhost

Guys I'm sorry but can someone help me out here: I am unable to connect to my eventghost. Here is what i've done so far 1) I enabled the webserver plugin. Set my port to 5000. Set my Documents root folder to the folder provided by m19brandon which contains index.html 2) Port forwarded my port and IP...

Re: Voice Recognition

So the best way i found to configure this would be to use phrases instead of keywords. For example "roger start music player, roger start notepad" instead of the individual keywords. This reduces false positives

Sending IR codes using an HP IR receiver/transmitter

So i am trying to send IR commands from my computer to devices around my living room. For this i have an HP transmitter receiver. (http://www.amazon.com/HP-Infrared-Receiver-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B00KDNIRYA) So while i can receive IR codes just fine, i am having trouble sending IR codes. I ha...

Re: Launch an Application from Remote Control using EG

I have a logitech 700 which is similar to the 650 but Im not sure those come with a usb dongle. Either way, you may already be sending via CEC or Infrared. If you have an AMD apu, i believe those already support CEC. You should try to use either of the two pluggins... http://www.eventghost.net/forum...

Re: Launch an Application from Remote Control using EG

How are you controlling plex? Are you using an IR usb receiver? I imagine if you are controlling plex already using your remote then you do not need additional hardware.

Re: Launch an Application from Remote Control using EG

So the first thing is you need a way for the harmony remote (or any remote) to communicate with your PC. You can do that using FLIRC or a CEC adapter. Once you have either of those adapters, you can find the right EG plugin to map a remote button to start any app on your PC. EG has an action to star...

Re: use Xpadder, Xbox 360 controller and EventGhost together

If you have a bit of python experience, this will be easier. Have a look at these two threads http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5955 and http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4064 essentially you would need to set a variable and then have an if statement in your tree....

Re: libCEC plugin for Pulse Eight HDMI-CEC usb adapter

Yea Yasuo, Thanks for the update info. I updated my libCEC to version 3 and the installation comes with the EventGhost plugin which seems to work fine off the bat Only negetive thing is that LibCEC v3 does not seem to play well with Kasinator's libCEC plugin so you would have to re-do your entire ev...

Re: use Xpadder, Xbox 360 controller and EventGhost together

You can disable or enable a plugin the same way you would enable or disable anything in eventghost (under actions -> disable or enable an item) However in this case i would not disable the plugin because then there would be no way for you to enable it using the xbox controller itself. Instead have a...

Re: use Xpadder, Xbox 360 controller and EventGhost together

you can maybe try setting up a sequence in eventghost where a combination of buttons enables or disables the eventghost action (so something like pressing start and X disables the eventghost action and pressing start and Y re-enables it)

Re: Question about the range of IR transmitters

Thanks guys, I am going to replace my MCE device and see if the new one has better range. It just baffles me that even a $5 IR remote control can transmit signals from 20ft away while a blaster needs to be directly in front of the receiving device. I will keep this thread posted with the results of ...

Re: Question about the range of IR transmitters

Hi Zian, Thanks for the response. can you explain what you mean by mirrors? as in actual physical mirrors to reflect the ir signal? Well i am trying to achieve what the ir signal on what most common remotes handle... we can all use our typical remotes from about 10 feet away so why not a signal from...
