Re: external python files (LG WebOS TV via lan)

Thanks!
I will need to check a few more things, but hopefully I can manage to control an LG WebOS tv... :)
(of course I'll post back)

Happy holidays! (I'm not sure I'll be back before the new year)

Re: external python files (LG WebOS TV via lan)

Nothing urgent... Mainly just wondering if you can import an python file in a script... and if so, where do you put it that it will be found. But I'll soon on for Christmas holidays, so it really is nothing urgent. :)

Re: xAP Plugin

I don't know where I got the file I was using, but with the one you linked the problem is gone. I really thought I was using the last version... Sorry... :)

external python files (LG WebOS TV via lan)

Hello, I'm trying to control my LG TV (WebOS) using Eventghost. I've found some threads on EventGhost control of LG TV's, e.g. here , but they relate to older pre-WebOS LG TV's and the standard changed. The script finds the TV but the TV shows no connection dialog so the pairing fails. I've found Py...

Re: xAP Plugin

One thing... it sometimes complains if Eventghost is not running as administrator... Plugin: xAP xAP: UDP has Started: Server Mode: xAP Hub Mode Running: Port: 3639, Client Mode: On xAP: HeartBeat has Started Error starting plugin: xAP Traceback (most recent call last) (0.5.0-rc4): File "C:\Program ...

Re: xAP Plugin

It's almost one year; one more year to go. :) But now I have time to get back to things like Eventghost, so I will rework my config so I can integrate it with everything better (till now it worked, but was not so elegantly made and not easily maintainable). I basically use EventGhost to add function...

Re: xAP Plugin

No problem... I'm away from my home installation so cannot fully test it, but as far as I can tell now it seems to work. I'm using the time away from my installation to clean up my config and improve things. :)

Re: xAP Plugin

Ok, I think I managed. I removed it from the config (which generated a lot of error messages), saved the config under a different name, restarted eventghost as adminstrator and added the xap plugin through the menu. It is in the list of enabled plugins, does not show error messages and seems to be w...

Re: xAP Plugin

What it looks like to me is that your EG 0.5 is not running the same version of the plugin as your live EG. It looks like you could possibly have an older version of the plugin installed in EG 0.5 Well, I took the xAP plugin file I had... I remember some changes were planned to the whole plugin dis...

Re: xAP Plugin

Hello! I'm back... and updating my configuration... :) I'm still away from my installation (working abroad), but decided to clean up everything. I tried the latest Eventghost and the xAP plugin gives this message: - Plugin: xAP Error starting plugin: xAP Traceback (most recent call last) (0.5.0-rc4)...

Re: xAP Plugin

Just reinstalled my entire system and noticed that the last version of the xap plugin is not on the first post... :) It is still working nicely, so not much to report. I'm just getting everything set up for when I go abroad next month, so my girlfriend can use the system without too much hassle... S...

Re: Good practises for making an eventghost config

Thanks for the insights! A good naming convention is always necessary, so that is covered. :) I think I know now how to do it. My config is not that complicated, but has a few quirks in it (e.g. the plugin I have for my receiver only works one way: I have to request my receiver for sending back sett...

Good practises for making an eventghost config

Hello, I finally got round to working a bit on my Eventghost config, and will have a bit of time to finish it. Basically, I want it to combine the following: Kodi: xbmc2 addon MPC-HC: mpc-hc addon (it is my external player configured in Kodi) Squeezeboxes: xap plugin Marantz amplifier: modified Mara...

Re: xAP Plugin

The plugin is perfect: it does just what it is supposed to. The debugging feature is great, as otherwise it really overloads the log. For that reason, I do not use payload but eg.result (not sure if there are any difference because of this). Feel free to mention me. I have not tried the beta version...
